What should I do about water removal / damage before they get here?
1. If possible, and if it is safe for you to do so, shut off the source of the water.
2. If not, call your plumber or other servicing company (roofing company) that can assist you in stopping the water intrusion.
3. Remove or protect objects that will be damaged by the water.
4. Put away valuables for safe keeping.
5. Collect your personal / business information that pertains to the property insurance.
6. Call you insurance agent, he can verify your coverage, assist in placing your claim and is interested in your personal welfare.

When Allied Elements gets there, what will they do to remove the water?
1. The first activity Allied Elements will do is survey the water damage, determine the scope of the project(by using moisture meters, thermo graphic cameras and taking photographs for our records) and make assignments.
2. We will clear area of furniture and objects that impede extraction and drying to areas that have not been affected.
3. We will then perform water removal by extracting the excess water off of the floor and in the carpets.
4. Next, we will either remove carpet and pad (category3), just pad (category 2) or lift the carpet for drying (category 1)
5. If it is a category 2 or 3 flood, we will remove organic materials and apply antimicrobials to sanitize affected surfaces.
6. We then place drying equipment on the premises. Depending on the extent of the flood and the nature of it(category1,2,3), this equipment will usually be in the building for 3-6 days or until the building is dry and 100% of the water is removed.

Allied Elements’ first step in flood water removal and restoration, after we make certain the water flow is staunched, is water extraction from carpet, floors, walls and ceilings. We also check to see if any structural damage to your property or furniture might have occurred. We use the latest technology with our Flir™ thermo-graphic cameras to determine the hidden location of the water. Once all the heavy water is removed, our representatives begin drying with air-drying equipment and dehumidifiers. LGR dehumidifiers are used to dry the materials quickly. We also have injection drying systems to dry the hard to reach spaces. Any carpet or padding that is too damaged will be discarded. Our next concern is decontamination of the treated area. We sanitize with antimicrobials and mildew-cidal agents to keep dangerous molds and bacteria at bay. This step is also for odor control. Last, but not least, we engage in site cleanup.
